What is Mother’s Day like at The Resort at Pelican Hill?

Mother’s Day is a delicious time to visit The Resort at Pelican Hill. The Newport Coast hotel goes far beyond offering a typical Mother’s Day brunch (although there will be one available in the Mar Vista Ballroom) by offering a range of dining experiences that mom will remember for years to come.

The Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel has put together five different options for Mother’s Day. If your mom would enjoy whetting her appetite while soaking in a sunny day, head to the Coliseum Pool & Grill for a special all-day poolside breakfast buffet featuring selections like smoked salmon, artisanal cheeses, breakfast sausages, a custom omelet station, croissants and warm bread pudding. The previously mentioned Mother’s Day brunch will be served in the Mar Vista Ballroom between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., giving mother ample time to sleep in and enjoy the cold seafood, made-to-order salads, carved meats and decadent desserts at her leisure.

Watch as plates of seared sea scallops with cauliflower couscous, lobster eggs Benedict and herb-crusted Wagyu New York strip come together in the open-kitchen Pelican Grill. The chefs have put together a special menu for Mother’s Day that’s sure to entertain (and fill) the entire family. More formal dining options include a three-course prix-fixe lunch at the Pacific Ballroom and a three-course dinner at Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Andrea, the luxury California hotel’s home for classic Italian dining. Once you treat mom to sea bass Livornese and ricotta cheese tortino with strawberry rhubarb compote, there won’t be any competition for the title of her favorite child.

What is Mother’s Day like at Acqualina Resort & Spa?

As it has for the past several years, Acqualina Resort & Spa is celebrating Mother’s Day all throughout the month of May. The Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star resort has curated an “All About Moms” package that includes four 50-minute body or facial treatments at the Five-Star Acqualina Spa by ESPA, a healthy spa lunch for two, an extra-special welcome amenity and complimentary Internet access. Mom won’t have to think about a thing, besides, of course, deciding whether to share the treatments with you or indulge in four different treatments herself — no small feat, since the spa menu includes luxurious treatments like the popular hot stone massage and the ESPA refining enzyme facial.

What is Mother’s Day like at Barnsley Gardens Resort?

Treat your mother to a weekend of Southern charm and special attention at Barnsley Gardens Resort. In addition to enjoying the resort’s relaxed mountain-view atmosphere and abundance of outdoor activities like golf and horseback riding, she’ll be thrilled to have you accompany her to a traditional afternoon tea on May 11. Should you be traveling with children under the age of 12, there’s a special “Mommy, Me & Fairy Makes Three” tea party, where the resort’s Fairy Godmother will make a special appearance. And, because the resort understands that some ladies are moms to four-legged “children,” there’s even a unique tea for moms and their dogs, with gourmet biscuits and pet-friendly chamomile tea for Fido.

On May 12, put on your Sunday best and sit down to a delicious lunch buffet at this luxury Adairsville hotel. A few of the tasty options you can look forward to are roasted eggplant salad with capers and sweet onions, tarts filled with duck confit and mango chutney, roast prime rib of beef with au jus and horseradish cream and herbed yellow squash sauté. Children will have no problem staying on their best behavior with a just-for-kids buffet brimming with all their favorites: chicken fingers, French fries, mini pizzas and more. For dessert, indulge in a selection from the display of pastries, cakes and tarts.

What is Mother’s Day like at The Greenbrier?

Mother’s Day is a wonderful time to visit The Greenbrier. The Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel pulls out all the stops to make sure each mother receives the greatest gift of all during her stay: priceless memories that she’ll cherish forever. This year, the hotel is offering a special Mother’s Day package that includes a $100 resort credit, flowers and chocolates in mom’s guest room upon arrival, and one family portrait. Spoil mom even more by adding on a complimentary sulphur soak at the hotel’s Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Greenbrier Spa with the purchase of any other 50-minute treatment.

When you call to book your stay, be sure to reserve a table for the hotel’s popular Mother’s Day brunch. This year, the delectable spread includes all the typical fare you’d expect (croissants, Danish rolls, fresh fruit, omelet station), plus a selection of chilled salads and seafood, a carving station with ham and turkey breast, hot entrées (think seared Maryland crab cakes and eggs Benedict) and, of course, dessert.

The luxury White Sulphur Springs hotel doesn’t stop there, though — planned activities throughout the entire weekend (May 10-12) include a meet and greet with the chocolate chef at The Candy Maker, wine tastings, trunk shows and daily concerts by the Springhouse Entertainers in the lower lobby shop corridor.
