Simon Chen

General Manager

Simon Chen is the general manager of The Little Nell. Previously he was the general manager at Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa in Rancho Santa Fe, California, where he oversaw a total renovation and repositioning of the widely acclaimed resort. He studied at the Hotel School at InterContinental in Sydney and has been in the hospitality business since 1990, working for independent hotels as well as the Ritz-Carlton in locations around the world, including mountain properties such as Bachelor Gulch, Telluride and Vail. Chen worked at the Nell in the mid-90s as front office manager and assistant guest services director.

    Does The Little Nell have a house car or limousine service?

    The Little Nell offers guests transportation services with a fleet of top-of-the-line Cadillac Escalades and Audis with experienced drivers. Transportation is provided to and from the airport, around town and to all ski areas. Guests are also able to take advantage of the hotel’s unique Test Drive program, where all they have to do is ask for the keys to take a new Audi for a spin.

    What are the best rooms to stay in at The Little Nell?

    All the rooms at The Little Nell are beautifully appointed; but if luxury is the name of the game, the Paepcke Suite is the best room to stay in. The Paepcke Suite is a 2,500-square-foot suite that is sumptuously decorated with rich maple-paneled walls and hardwood floors. It has an expansive balcony with panoramic vistas of Aspen Mountain, and it is decorated in warm mountain colors and soft tapestry rugs with fireplaces in the living room and bedroom. An ideal space for relaxing or elegant entertaining, the living room features a coffered ceiling, grand fireplace, premium full-service wet bar, dining table for six, vintage games, walk-in closet, an expansive office and state-of-the art media systems. The master bedroom is an alluring haven of privacy with a luxurious master bath and thoughtful attention to details throughout. In addition, it has the added perk of being entirely powered by its own array of solar panels.

    All of our rooms feature bathrobes and slippers, humidifiers for the dry mountain air, umbrellas, blankets, shoe horns, live plants, a collection of books and magazines, a sampling of CDs and extensive mini-bars/wet bars. Nightly turndown surprises are a fun amenity for our guests, and mini-bar items (excluding alcohol) in our suites are complimentary.

    Our one-bedroom suites provide 850 square feet of residential opulence divided amongst a living/dining area and private bedroom with king bed. Two of the One Bedroom Town View Suites have an additional half bath in the foyer, a unique split-level floor plan and vaulted A-Frame ceilings.
