When you enter Fuchun Resort Hangzhou’s modern Fuchun Spa, the teak, granite and oversized glass lanterns set the tone for the kind of pampering you can expect. All treatments, which are exclusive to Fuchun Spa, blend Balinese technique with traditional Chinese elements. There are a variety of massages and body services on offer, but one of the specialties is Chinese reflexology. The spa enlisted a traditional Chinese medicine doctor to design a menu of reflexology treatments, from foot massage to gua sha, an ancient healing practice of scraping lubricated skin that is supposed to help blood flow. Plus, Fuchun has a dedicated foot massage room.
The Hangzhou spa also has six spa suites, including four for couples, two rooms exclusively for Chinese massage, and saunas and steam rooms for both men and women. For couples looking to step up their experience, reserve the luxurious Spa Villa; it has its own private garden and Jacuzzi. After your treatment, adjourn to the Aqua Lounge, where tea, fruit and other healthy snacks can be enjoyed while overlooking the pool.
Fuchun Spa is just one part of the resort’s overall wellness facilities; you will also find a large Balinese-style pool, a yoga lounge, two outdoor tennis courts and a boutique gym. Plans are in the works for an expansion of the gym.
