You can’t visit Hershey — especially with children — without spending time on the exhilarating rides at the historic Hersheypark. What began in 1907 as a glorified park to host vaudeville performances has blossomed into a major modern theme park with 65 rides, including 12 thrilling roller coasters, 14 wild water rides and family-friendly entertainment galore. The Hersheypark’s boardwalk offers the Roller Soaker, a roller coaster water ride that encourages interaction between the riders and the spectators.
After you’ve gotten your fill of roller coasters and Ferris wheels, head to one of the many venues at the park for a dance show, a musical or everything in between. Hersheypark Amphitheatre, Country Grill and Music Box Way are among the venues at the park where you can catch shows like “Showdown at Cocoa Island,” the tale of a cook protecting his secret ingredient that features sea lions and acrobats. Once you’ve left the show, grab some Hershey treats at Simply Chocolate or some healthy grub at Turkey Hill. After the day is done, you can settle into your room at one of park’s official hotels, such as The Hotel Hershey, and wake up to go to the chocolate spa in the morning.
