What are the best places for lunch in Knoxville?

Being a Knoxville native, I've got a few favorite lunch spots. My top spot has to go to The Tomato Head. This downtown eatery is great for dinner as well, but I love the selection of soups, salads and sandwiches — or a slice of pizza — for a scrumptious lunch that will leave you satisfied and not too stuffed. While you have to try one of the pizzas or a few slices of each, I usually go for the Oh Boy sandwich as my entrée. The mix of chicken, sundried tomatoes, poppyseed dressing, mayo, Monterey Jack cheese and spinach is full of flavor and not too heavy. However, my favorite thing comes off the appetizer section of the menu — the hummus. While you've got a lot of options with the hummus plate and hummus and blue corn chips, ask for the hummus and bread. It's not on the menu but they'll serve you a delightful selection of freshly baked bread alongside a generous portion of the hummus. If you love it as much as me, you'll want to grab some on your way out, and thankfully you can as they sell it in a few different sizes.

The eatery now has a West Knoxville location on Kingston Pike if you're doing shopping in the area and want to stop in for a quick, and very delicious, bite.
