Where is the best shopping in Knoxville?

Many shops and eateries sit along Kingston Pike, just a few minutes from downtown Knoxville, and the road leads the way to West Town Mall, which is filled with department stores and smaller shops you'd expect to see. If you love a good book — or a good deal, McKay's Used Books, CDs and More (located just off of Kingston Pike on Papermill Drive) offers a great selection to browse and buy.

Or head to Turkey Creek, which is easily accessible from Interstate 75. There you'll find plenty of big chains like Target, Best Buy and Belk, and smaller shops as well. Turkey Creek has many restaurants as well as the enormous Regal Cinemas Pinnacle 18 movie theater if you're in the mood for a film.

For more ecletic and unique stores, Market Square in downtown Knoxville is the place to be. And head just a street over to Mast General Store, where you'll find great outdoor wear and, my favorite, a whole section of both well-known classics and hard-to-find candy.

If you travel a little outside Knoxville to Sevierville, you can find some great deals at the Tanger Outlet, which has factory outlet stores from brands like Polo Ralph Lauren and J. Crew.

If you head to downtown Knoxville, you’ll find unique stores lining Market Square, selling everything from home goods to clothes. This is also where the farmers’ market is held every Wednesday and Saturday. While you won’t find any high-end department stores here, there are plenty of unique shops and boutiques to explore. You can also visit one of the various shopping centers around the city — the Turkey Creek shopping and entertainment complex in Farragut (about 20 minutes from downtown) is Knoxville’s largest with stores ranging from Target and OfficeMax to World Market and Gander Mountain.
