One of the best things about Skylofts at MGM Grand, the boutique hotel atop MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, is that you don’t have to leave your loft to enjoy excellent dining and service to match 24/7. The in-room dining menu at the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert and has a separate list for children and party catering. You can also transport the fine dining experience from five of MGM Grand’s best restaurants right to your loft, or customize your own dish.
Breakfast options include the signature Skylofts breakfast made with butter-poached lobster, two poached eggs on toasted brioche with freshly pressed juice, crispy breakfast potatoes and pastries from Joël Robuchon.
For dinner, we love the 8-ounce prime beef tenderloin doused in bordelaise sauce with roasted fingerling potatoes and charred broccolini with garlic and shallots. Kid-friendly options include chicken tenders, pizza and macaroni and cheese.
Perhaps the best part of the menu — especially for picky palates — is the ability to customize your own salad, sandwich, entrée or dessert. Make a salad your way with six types of lettuce, a ton of veggies, cheeses, crunchy toppings, meats and dressings. Or build a sandwich starting with your choice of bread, with everything from a pretzel bun to sourdough. Then stack it high with whichever meat, cheese or vegetable you please. For your entrée, select such meats as salmon, lobster and New York strip steak, then add on your sauce, vegetable and starch. Our favorite is the do-it-yourself dessert, where you can pick a slice of lemon pound cake or chocolate whoopie pie and top it with a range of fruits, ice creams and creams or compotes. It makes the luxury hotel's room service that much sweeter.
