The prix-fixe menu at the 2012 Wynn Las Vegas’ New Year’s Eve Dinner Party was a gourmet selection from six of the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel’s impressive restaurants. Appetizers such as rosemary crumb-crusted baby lamb chop with grain mustard sauce and Medjool dates wrapped in applewood-smoked bacon set the stage for an elegant meal from Wynn’s eateries.
The culinary delights representing each restaurant included Kumomoto and Kushi oysters from Lakeside and sliced prime New York strip steak and black truffle creamed corn from SW Steakhouse. This included a can't-miss selection from Wing Lei; the restaurant’s fusion of Shanghai, Szechwan and Cantonese cuisines is evident in its menu of Shanghai pork dumplings, imperial Peking duck and more. The Country Club lived up to its Four-Star rating with truffle-crusted Scottish salmon, celeriac purée and peppercress as well as a beloved classic: shrimp and grits. Mizumi served up decadent sushi rolls and vegetarian dishes such as buckwheat and taro tacos with Asian slaw and avocado. And Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Sinatra’s offering was a sampling of refined Italian fare including lobster risotto with Parmesan and winter truffle malloreddus pasta.
Assorted pastries and confectionary treats topped off the meal including ice cream shots, mini rum baba and a variety of panna cotta.
