Allegro’s French pastry chef Pierre Gatel has plenty of signature creations on the menu for those with a sweet tooth, including their not-so-traditional tiramisu. It’s served in a large glass and the layers of mascarpone cheese and espresso-soaked ladyfingers are crowned with a patina of melt-in-your-mouth chocolate. It’s enough for two to indulge. But you might want to try one of the other signature desserts that are sure to satisfy, such as the coconut and strawberry tapioca, an updated version of the childhood dessert made with coconut milk and agave nectar. You can also order the classic Italian standby — a cannoli — made with sweet ricotta cheese, and candied citrus and chocolate shavings.
