If you were expecting dainty three-bite desserts at Allegro …well, you will be pleasantly surprised to discover your mistake. The dessert portions at the Italian restaurant in Wynn Las Vegas are large enough to share, but so delicious you might not want to. Pastry chef Pierre Gatel serves a traditional tiramisu with a twist: it arrives in a large glass with a thin layer of melt-in-your-mouth chocolate on top. Other top desserts included a cannoli made from sweet ricotta cheese, candied citrus and chocolate shavings. Try the rum baba, an Italian, rum-soaked sponge cake with citrus infused syrup and served with vanilla whipped cream. The chocolate torta is made with bittersweet chocolate custard and served with vanilla ice cream and chocolate crunch. Allegro also offers a nice selection of gelatos including a limoncello flavor that makes a refreshing way to end a meal.
