Does Javier’s have a bar?

I really adore the Javier’s bar — the cozy, leather swivel stools (with built-in foot rests) are oh-so comfortable, the bartenders are attentive, and the restaurant’s lively playlist of songs (classics like “Heartbreak Hotel,” by Elvis Presley, as well as mariachi music) is just loud and clear enough to insulate the area from the sound of the slots. A very intriguing and rather beautiful canopy of bright white rope hangs over the circular wooden bar, which is stocked with premium tequilas. Javier’s margaritas are hand shaken, made with fresh ingredients and poured over ice into generous tumblers. I ordered the Margarita de Pepino, which had cucumbers, agave nectar and fresh lime, and tasted fresh with the perfect amount of sweetness. And of course I certainly didn’t object to the complimentary chips and salsa.

Javier’s doesn’t just have a bar, but a happening bar scene because it’s tucked into one of the hippest hotels on the Las Vegas Strip at ARIA Resort & Casino. In fact, Michael Douglas and Morgan Freeman were there in December filming a movie. The oval bar with the unique rope canopy was packed on a Friday night with tourists and even locals sipping martinis, margaritas and specialty tequilas. You’ll also find an extensive wine selection for pairing with anything from appetizers to a full dinner. Since the scene in the bar is so lively, you might want to consider having dinner there. But even if you do ultimately head for the dining room, we suggest spending a little time in the bar at Javier’s. If you’re on your own and wanting to meet new people, you’ll find a friendly and diverse clientele at the Javier’s bar ranging in age from their late 20s through their 60s.
