Executive pastry chef Kimberly Valdez offers a whole array of special selections on the Sweet Cart Named Desire, which you’ll see parked in the main dining area of Lakeside. When you’re finished with your savory courses, a server will wheel it to your table to help with selection. The cart menu is divided into four categories: fruity (we recommend the Caramel Apples), nutty (Crunchy Peanut Fudge bar), chocolaty (Peppermint Bark) and creamy (Red Velvet Cake). But if Forbes Travel Guide editors had to choose just one signature, they’d recommend the refreshing Citrus Layer Cake. Valdez layers green tea cake with white chocolate yuzu cream, blood orange and candied almonds. You’ll also be delighted by the Butterscotch Pot de Crème, known as a favorite in the kitchen.
