The guest rooms at Eccleston Square Hotel are delightful. Officially billed as “sensual inner-city cocoons where guests can relax and re-energize,” they’re home to beautiful furnishings, subtle lighting and sumptuous décor inspired by yacht cabins. Think Italian wood finishes, deep carpets, ceiling-to-floor drapes and Italian marble in the bathrooms. Each room has a luxurious queen- or king-size bed, which is electronically adjustable, with various massage settings, and is topped with ultra-comfortable duvets and pillows.
But the real room highlights are purely technological. Along with the enormous 3-D TV, the iPod docking station and the complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, you'll find a personal iPad 2 (useful for ordering any hotel service), a Nespresso machine and smart glass walls around the bathroom, so you can switch from transparent to opaque in an instant. All rooms also have a personal safe large enough for a laptop, a reasonably priced mini-bar and a range of comfort items, from fluffy bath robes and slippers to take-out umbrellas.
There are 40 rooms in total, divided into three categories: the City Queen Room (around 14 square meters), the Luxury King Room (around 16 square meters) and the Prestige King Room (around 18 square meters).
