It’s difficult to narrow down the list, but here are our favorite things about richly historic and luxurious The Savoy, a Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel:
1. The Savoy Museum. Its old postcards, busts and other paraphernalia document the storied hotel’s glamorous history in London.
2.The picture-frame-lined staircase. We loved taking a closer look at the signed napkins from the likes of Marlene Dietrich and other glamorous celebrities that cover the wall on the staircase leading up to the American Bar.
3. The unbeatable cocktails at the American Bar. Waiters wear white jackets, and the bartenders have been called the best in the world.
4. Afternoon tea in the Thames Foyer. It takes place under the beautiful stained glass cupola with a live piano player providing background music for a parade of treats and pastries.
5. The Savoy Tea shop. The boutique inside the London hotel includes an onsite chocolatier and such goodies as lavender éclairs and raspberry and wine macarons.
