Chuan Spa London offers you two waiting areas. The first nook features a long cluster of modern, cream-colored, high wingback leather chairs at the entrance to the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star spa, right before the reception desk. Here’s where you’ll sit to fill out your registration form along with an additional form that helps the spa discover which Chinese medicinal “element” (earth, water, fire, metal or wood) you resemble and which elements you’re lacking so that your treatments can be tailored to help you balance. The second waiting area, meanwhile, is actually located just behind the screens surrounding the reception area on the main level. Cream-colored chaise lounges topped with Chinese pillows are neatly tucked behind the screens, which are made from multi-colored swatches of Asian fabric. Sconce lighting is affixed above the chairs should you want to flip through the copies of Wired or Elle placed atop the side tables resembling Chinese drums. You’ll also notice headsets placed next to the chairs — simply plug them into the outlet on the right-hand side of the chair to listen to music and block out any noises (which can occasionally invade the space, depending on how busy the reception desk is at a given moment).
