Take the elevator (or “lift,” as they’d say in London) to the seventh floor of The Berkeley, then hook a sharp right, and you’ll find yourself at the entrance to The Berkeley Health Club and Spa. The entrance is rather narrow and can get a little crowded as it’s a main conduit from the spa’s locker rooms to the staircase that leads up to the swimming pool, outdoor terrace and gym. Nevertheless, you’ll find a reception desk where you’ll be able to check in for your treatments, as well as a small sitting area to the right, stocked with magazines like Red, Time Out London, and Vogue, among others. In the glass case behind the desk, you’ll notice the Essie nail polishes and Comfort Zone moisturizers used during the treatments, all available for purchase. The space itself is painted a serene pale blue, and potted orchids and vases of purple flowers create a calming, welcoming entrance to the hotel’s day spa. Stepping over the threshold here, you might just forget you’re in the heart of bustling London.
