The relaxation lounge and locker rooms at Aqua Star Babor Beauty Spa — like the rest of The Beverly Hilton — have a retro, 1950s feel. The small locker room are bright and cheerful, done up in retro hues of brown, avocado green and cream, and the furnishings are sleek and mod. Long wooden lockers allow you to stash your belongings while you prep for your massage.
In the cozy lounge, that theme continues via décor and accents that make the spot feel like a mid-century living room. Modern art, an exposed stone wall, wide-seated white chairs with woven brown-and-gold pillows and long, rectangular beige ottomans combine to look more like the set of Mad Men than a traditional spa lounge.
The lounge is the perfect spot to relax before your facial or hot stone massage, and if you get a little hungry you’ll find refreshments here, too. On the opposite side of the room, you’ll discover a buffet table topped with a plate of treats like Italian cookies half dipped in chocolate and sugar cookies studded with nuts. Relax with a cup of tea from Tea Forté — each bag is individually wrapped in distinctive triangular packaging and displayed neatly on a white oval tray — or opt for a cool, refreshing water with lemon.
