Special gifts from the chef at The River Grill Restaurant at Sorrel River Ranch Resort & Spa are a traditional part of your meal, so expect an amuse-bouche to arrive at the beginning, and a sweet dessert amuse to end your meal. Our buffalo and sourdough amuse-bouche was delivered by chef Richard Potts himself, who cheerfully described the dish before letting us dig in. Potts returned at the end of the meal, admitting he’d just invented the towering chocolate ganache dessert amuse-bouche placed before us. In the midst of dinner at the recommended restaurant, we also received a fresh beet salad, in which the chef played up the homegrown ingredients taken directly from the ranch’s own garden.
