Bernardus Winery in Monterey County hosts special events for its Bernardus Wine Club members throughout the year. Members are invited to come to the tasting room at 5 Carmel Valley Road each quarter to pick up their wine club shipment, chat with other members and enjoy some wine and appetizers. Sometimes the party might feature a cheese board and charcuterie. A recent party invited wine club members to The Spa at Bernardus Lodge for a tour. The biggest wine club event of the year is the harvest party luncheon, which is the only day of the year that Bernardus Winery opens to the public. One hundred wine club members get the chance to take a tour, see how wine is made and talk to winemaker Dean De Korth. The luncheon is catered by chef Cal Stamenov, who oversees Wickets Bistro and Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Marinus at Bernardus Lodge.
