The specialty cocktail list at Del Posto isn’t extensive, but there are some great choices from which to choose. A favorite fall and winter drink that we enjoyed was the Autumn in New York, which is a caramel-colored cocktail served in a tumbler glass with one solid ice cube in the center — clearly they’ve gotten the memo about craft ice. The drink is expertly made with Rittenhouse Rye, fig preserves, five-spice syrup and lemon juice to balance it out. For those looking for something on the more refreshing, sweet side, the rose-hued Whiskey Smash is made with Jameson Black Barrel, Peychaud’s Bitters, simple syrup and Fee Brothers aromatic bitters and served over crushed ice with a fresh mint sprig. If something simpler is what you’re looking for, the bar at this Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star restaurant will happily make a gin and tonic or a martini suited to your style.
