Though the interior design of Del Posto is more on the conservative side than the other restaurants owned by the powerhouse team Joe Bastianich and Mario Batali (including the more casual eatery Lupa and the rock-music playing Babbo), the quality of the food in all three is consistent.
Sleek floors in shades of beige, black and cream line the entranceway at the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star restaurant, ushering you toward grand piano, upon which live music is played during both lunch and dinner. The New York restaurant is dimly lit, allowing enough light to cast a calm and romantic glow on the dining room, but not so dark that you need to take your your iPhone flashlight app to read the menu. The music, lighting, and black iron banisters are reminiscent of an Italian castle, where you are the guests for the evening and are about to be showered with a feast fit for royalty. At least, that’s how they make you feel.
