Upon arrival after checking our coats, not only did Charles Masson — the restaurant’s owner — personally come by to say hello, our waiter happily engaged in conversation with us. He was genuinely interested in knowing who we were, what are dining preferences were and how he could be of help. Service was efficient and remarkable. For a New York restaurant this traditional, the atmosphere at La Grenouille was laid back and inviting. We left feeling like we had made friends with everyone there, from the bartender to the owner. The attention to detail was the most impressive part.
