Executive chef Willis Loughhead is dedicated to creating the most sublime experience for all of his guests at the Palm Court in the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Plaza Hotel. The custom of sending diners a special edible gift from the chef started in France. It’s called an amuse bouche, which means a “delight to the palate.” Even though chef Loughhead is busy overseeing breakfast, brunch and lunch service, he still takes time to send tastes to diners. During our Forbes Travel Guide editor’s experience at the Palm Court restaurant in New York, he sent out a sampling of the fresh and seasonal oysters currently being served on the menu. It was a nice treat and a light bite that served as the perfect opening to our meal.
