Hotel Viking is divided into two sides: there's the original structure from 1926, known as the Historic side, and the addition built in the 1960s, referred to as the Newport side. On the Historic end, the 150-200 square foot rooms are styled to be reminiscent of the city's Gilded Age, and are accented with rich colors and textures, along with elegant period-inspired furnishings. On the Newport portion, the Progressive Era-influenced rooms feature more subtle hues and provide 310 square feet of space. All guest rooms at Hotel Viking include king or queen-sized beds, flat-screen televisions, complimentary high-speed internet and renovated bathrooms with rain shower heads. There are also larger suites located in both parts of the hotel, some of which follow the distinct décor of the famous Newport Mansions; each of these suites is named accordingly after the mansion that inspired its style.
