Where can I go to watch sports in Orange County?

To see the Anaheim Angels, make your way to “the Big A,” also known as Angel Stadium. The historic ballpark is located near Disneyland and the Honda Center, where the Anaheim Ducks play. As recent as 2009, the Angels were contenders, finishing first in their division and competing in the playoffs. The Anaheim Ducks, originally named The Mighty Ducks after the 1992 Disney film, won the Stanley Cup in the 2006-07 season — their first overall win in the history of the franchise. Of course, if you want to catch Lamar Odom or Kobe Bryant dunk a few hoops, you’ll have to travel into Los Angeles to the Staples Center, home to 16-time NBA champions, the Lakers.

Are you a sports fan? If so, you’re in luck in Orange County, especially if you’re staying at The St. Regis Monarch Beach. Just a short drive away, you can watch the Anaheim Ducks take the ice at the Honda Center, or watch the Los Angeles Angels take the field at Angels Stadium.

The Pelican Grill at Pelican Hill Golf Club has a lounge with two nine-foot TVs for sports viewing. It’s a very popular spot for watching golf, among other sports. Menu specials in the Lounge include the Kobe burger, bourbon-smoked barbeque beef brisket and the crab cake BLT sandwich, plus chilled beers, California wines and specialty cocktails.
