Canyons Resort, the all-seasons destination that houses Waldorf Astoria Park City, is probably the most popular attraction near the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel. One of the largest winter ski resorts in the country, Canyons Resort features more than 4,000 acres of skiable terrain, while during the warmer months you can take scenic gondola rides, go hiking, mountain biking and ziplining, play Frisbee and miniature golf and dine at some of the best restaurants in the area. Free concerts, festivals, and a farmers’ market are also held here.
Utah Olympic Park, one of Park City’s biggest attractions and a venue for Nordic jumping, bobsled, luge and skeleton sledding during the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, is nearby as well. Guided tours of the competition site are available, and our Forbes Travel Guide editors note you can also take a ride on a four-person passenger bobsled, where during your run speeds can reach 80 miles per hour with up to 5 Gs of force. If that sounds a bit too thrilling, ride a chair lift to the top of the ski jump at 7,130 feet above ski level. The concierge team at the luxury Park City hotel can provide more information about these and other attractions, should you be interested in adding a bit more excitement to your stay.
