Ultra-luxurious spa treatments in Rome

6 Treatment rooms

In the heart of chaotic Rome resides De Russie Wellness Zone, a rare and luxurious refuge of relaxation in a city that buzzes around the clock. To find it, walk through the swank Hotel De Russie’s ground-level outdoor courtyard and garden, which leads to the pampering spa, gym and beauty space where guests are treated to a seemingly never-ending menu of skin, body and massage treatments.

While some of the finest spa services in the Eternal City can be had at this luxury spa, what makes the Wellness Zone worth a visit is the individualized attention given to each guest. Upon arrival, a thoughtful multilingual team of aestheticians, personal trainers and beauty experts hold a friendly health assessment and treatment consultation to ensure your services address exactly what you need. Guests are then invited to relax with a selection of herbal teas, honeys, water and fruit before taking advantage of the fitness center, Turkish bath, sauna and indoor salt-water hydrotherapy pool. Plan on arriving at least one hour in advance to experience the serenity-inducing amenities.

The Design

The atmosphere in this Roman spa is light and airy. Cool hues are complemented by warm wood accents, while the six treatment rooms are wide and open. Five of the rooms measure 100 square feet; the sixth is more than 200 square feet and is designed to accommodate couples treatments. In harmony with the overall look of the Wellness Zone, treatment rooms rely on minimalist design to foster tranquility and are kept warm and candlelit during services. The pretty pool area is awash with blue mosaic tiles, divans and a gently curved hydrotherapy pool. The intimate fitness center is a wide, mirror-paneled space that has abundant light.

The Treatments

Insatiable spa-goers might meet their match here, due to the deep menu of treatments for face and body, including curative therapies that range from relaxation and energy work, to reflexology and rejuvenation. The spa team has created bespoke treatments like the Jet Lag program, a 150-minute scrub and massage service that incorporates hot stones and aromatherapy. For those in search of the elusive fountain of youth (and why wouldn’t it be in this ancient city?), the spa is the only one in Rome to offer the Cellular Exclusive Lift Concept, an 80-minute, high-tech lifting facial that stimulates cell metabolism and the skin's renewal process. (For a about an hour, a white-clad aesthetician focuses on every little line on your face.) Salon services run the gamut — think waxing, manicures, pedicures and hair treatments.

The Products

Expect to bask in some of beauty’s very best. Topnotch all-natural luxury products are used during services, including Carita, a Parisian anti-aging skincare line, France’s Cinq Mondes, botanical spa products for healing and revitalization, hair care products by Japan’s Shu Uemura and U.S. skincare line SkinCeuticals. The spa is also the only location in Rome to carry Swiss Perfection, an innovative and all-natural skincare line from the ultra-luxe La Prairie family.
