With so much to see and do in San Diego, it’s difficult to cram all of the city’s fun activities into just 24 hours; but if you must, we suggest keeping it simple to experience the best of what this town has to offer. A trip to the beach might seem like an obvious choice, but with Coronado Beach, which is among the most beautiful beaches in the nation, you’ll definitely want to spend an afternoon swimming, surfing or sunning yourself at this gorgeous spot.

Traveling with kids? Located right in historic Balboa Park, the San Diego Zoo is one of the best zoos in the country. The zoo is home to everything from koalas to elephants. Don’t miss the adorable panda bears. To get a good overview of the expansive grounds, take a guided bus tour of the zoo, and be sure to bring the kiddies to the Children’s Zoo and Petting Paddock so they can get up close to goats and other critters.

Should you get hungry after a day of being out and about, grab lunch or dinner — alfresco-style — and take in San Diego’s gorgeous beach and city. It’s the perfect way to end a busy day.
