Start the day in San Miguel de Allende with a strong coffee and a light, flaky croissant from Cumpanio in the city center. After breakfast, take a short stroll to the jardín principal with its elegant benches and laurel trees. Visit impressive cathedral La Parroquia, and take a walking tour of other historic buildings.

In the afternoon, enjoy a cooking class at celebrated culinary school Sazón. Visit the local market with chef Emanuel Cervantes and learn about local ingredients like huitlacoche, corn truffle. Head back to Sazón’s lovely kitchen to prepare your feast: squash blossom quesadillas with tortillas made from scratch.

After lunch, take a stroll through the city center to do a bit of shopping. Stop at the artisan’s market to pick up some embroidered pillow covers covered in bird motifs — easy to fold and take home.

At night, head to dinner at The Restaurant. Order the duck breast with mole negro and enjoy your meal in front of the courtyard fountain filled with floating rose petals. After dinner, have a drink on the rooftop terrace of La Azotea and enjoy the view of La Parroquia lit up at night.
