Located in a large white villa in the middle of the sprawling grounds of Santa Barbara’s Bacara Resort & Spa is where you’ll find The Spa at Bacara, its entrance clearly marked on the building’s façade. The multi-storied space is large, with nearly forty treatment rooms, fully equipped locker rooms and a gym on the ground level; while standing at the reception desk, make sure to look all the way up to the domed wooden ceiling, a circular staircase wending its way upward. There isn’t much seating at the entrance, but you’ll likely be immediately whisked back past the table of bath products to the locker room check-in area. However, if you’d like to recreate the spa experience at home, tucked behind the entrance to the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star spa is the spa boutique where you can purchase everything from Fresh shampoos and conditioners to bath bombs shaped like scoops of ice creams to even sparkly string bikinis and yoga apparel. It’ll cost you, but the price of being beautiful is oh so worth it.
