Signing up your young player for training at one of The Sea Island Golf Club’s junior programs might very well propel your son or daughter to Tiger Woods fame one day. Children between 12 and 18 years old with a handicap of 10 or less should consider the one-week intensive Summer Elite Junior Golf School, which takes place in the middle of summer. There, they’ll train for 35 hours with famous golfers like Todd Anderson and Morris Pickens on their swing, mental game, golf fitness and putting. In addition to a Sea Island gift bag, they’ll come away with the skills and confidence to play at a national level.
Less intensive is the Summer Junior Golf Camp for kids 11 to 17 years old. This weeklong camp will provide on-course instruction to mimic a real round of golf, preparing your child to play independently without teachers by their side. Lastly, the Summer Mini Junior Golf Camp teaches kids between 10 and 14 years old about the fundamentals of the sport. It’s only nine hours long, but the young duffers will receive some helpful tips on the links.
