What are the best places to stay in Sea Island?

For decades, Sea Island, Georgia, has been a coveted vacation spot for those looking to experience Southern charm and hospitality at its finest, mostly because it’s home to two Five-Star hotels. The Cloister offers 175 lavish rooms and suites decorated with wood beams, brilliantly colored Turkish rugs and traditional mahogany furniture. The luxury hotel also gives you access to a five-mile private beach and Georgian Room, the only Five-Star restaurant in the state.

Golf enthusiasts should opt for The Lodge at Sea Island Golf Club, a 40-room hotel that feels just like an old English country estate. It’s a duffer’s paradise with three 18-hole championship golf courses, one of which hosts the PGA Tour’s McGladrey Classic. The Five-Star hotel also has its share of dining options, such as steakhouse Colt & Alison and the more casual Oak Room. In the rooms, you’ll have 24-hour butler service, large LCD HD televisions, deep-soaking tubs and customizable mini-bars.

If you are looking for longer-term lodgings, The Cottages at Sea Island are an alternative. The rooms are also good for those traveling in families or large groups. Cottage life at Sea Island will grant you all the conveniences and luxuries of resort life, but with more of a home-like environment. You’ll enjoy a fully equipped kitchen, a washer and dryer, plus the option of daily housekeeping and babysitting services.

It really depends on who you’re coming with and what you want to do! For golfers, you can’t beat The Lodge. For romantic getaways, The Cloister. If you’re coming with family or more than two people we have the Beach Club, Ocean Villas and our Cottages (some of which have as many as 7 bedrooms!).
