Although a card on our bed informed us that turndown service wasn’t automatic and available by request only at Fairmont Olympic Hotel, during our stay, a housekeeping attendant nevertheless knocked on our door earlier in the evening asking us if we wanted the service. When we returned to our room at the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel later that night, we were glad we said yes, since the coverlet on our bed had been discreetly tucked under our nightstand and the curtains pulled shut to ensure nary a peek of light would disturb our sleep. Soft music from our CD player/radio and dim lighting set the mood for sweet dreams, and a handy card placed on our pillow informed us of the next day's weather forecast — handy information to have when planning day trips outside of the luxury Seattle hotel. All that was left for us to do was to don the terrycloth robe hanging on our bathroom door, slide into the slippers found in the closet and plop ourselves onto the bed.
