CHAR bar at the Hotel Indigo Shanghai has a gourmet menu designed by the restaurant’s executive chef Julie Donohoe. Served daily from 6 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., the bar menu includes king prawn cocktail, freshly shucked oysters, house smoked salmon with horseradish crème and salt and pepper squid with lime aioli. On the meat side, there’s the CHAR mini burgers and Wagyu beef steak sandwich. Other bites include vegetable spring rolls with chili sauce and beer battered fries served with tomato salsa. Dessert comes in the form of the CHAR mini cheesecake and mango and lychee trifle. If you’re sharing wine with a group, you might want to order the French cheese plate, which is served with homemade fig jam, truffle honey and lahvosh crisp breads.
