Roosevelt Prime Steakhouse does have a bar, but if you want to come in just for a drink, you can sit in the cigar lounge or in the wine shop next door. The wine shop houses Roosevelt’s bottles, most of which are from California. Restaurant owner George Chen is an oenophile and a San Franciscan, and it shows in the rich selection of wine. In the cigar lounge, sink into leather club chairs, put your feet up on a dark wooden table and light up. Despite the fans, the cigar room retains the faint aroma of smoke and cigars, so those allergic to smoke will want to avoid it. You can bring your own cigars or order them from the restaurant. And to drink, you’ll find brandy, liqueur, aperitifs, standard cocktails and a wine list made up mostly of California wines.
