There is no sommelier at Sushi Oyama, but the friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff will easily be able to help you choose a drink to go along with your meal. The restaurant offers a decent list of alcohols, many of which pair well with seafood. While you can choose a bottle of wine, it’s best to peruse their list of sakes, which are probably the best pairing choice for your meal. Also interesting is their list of plum wines. Far from the sticky, sweet concoctions many of us know, the plum wines here are subtle — almost like a light and less viscous dessert wine — which will also work well paired with the array of raw fish you’ll indulge in during your meal.
