The menu at Table No. 1 by Jason Atherton is simply written with just a few categories: meat and fish, vegetables, sides, snack plates, small plates and desserts. However, the flavors and combinations are sophisticated and delicious. The style of cooking is European but with many international influences, including spices and herbs from Asia. The food is hearty, managing to be rustic but also strikingly modern at the same time. Consulting chef Jason Atherton and his team use local, organic chicken and pork, and dishes might include braised beef cheek with snails in bone marrow and red wine sauce or seared sea bass with white bean salad with olives and avocado. Some of our favorite dishes are in the small plates category and include tuna tartare with avocado and sesame and razor clams with chorizo, coriander and chili.
