The chef de cuisine at The MEET is Tobias Unger, a young chef hailing from Heilbronn, Germany. Unger began his career in Cologne and Heidelberg, before moving to the Middle East to work for the Dubai Marina Yacht Club and, later, the highly regarded Luxury Collection Sheraton in Kuwait. Next, he landed a job at the Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts as sous chef for the hotel chain’s outpost in Dubai. He eventually made his way to the younger and hipper Kerry Hotel, Pudong, Shanghai, where he has helped create the steak and comfort-food menu that you’ll find today at The MEET.
