With over 500 different wines on offer and an in-house sommelier, Wei Jing Ge at the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund is the perfect restaurant to experiment with wine and Chinese food pairings. While there are no pairing suggestions on the menu, the sommelier will be more than happy to help you choose something that will work well with your meal or pick a few bottles for around the table. Also interesting is Wei Jing Ge’s selection of Chinese spirits. While baijiu (Chinese liquor) is always a little strong for our taste, no matter how much the bottle costs, Wei Jing Ge boasts a wide selection of interesting yellow wines (huangjiu), which pair incredibly well with seafood.
