Where is the best shopping in Sharm el-Sheikh?

Though other popular tourist destinations in Egypt offer a larger variety of shopping opportunities — and, generally, better prices — Sharm el-Sheikh does still have some good options for souvenir shopping. In particular, our Forbes Travel Guide editors say the traditional Old Market is one of the city’s best places to shop for handmade leather goods, ornately decorated Bedouin carpets and kitschy souvenirs and knick-knacks. Be prepared to do some haggling here.

Il Mercato, located on the outskirts of town in Hadaba, is an open-air mall/shopping street with a slew of chain restaurants and variety of international brand-name shops — perfect for families with kids — while the abundance of storefronts in Naama Bay are convenient spots to pick up sunscreen, beach towels, postcards and other essentials.
