Shenzhen is far more of a manufacturing hub than a city for tourists. The best way to see Shenzhen in one day is to see something out of the ordinary; Forbes Travel Guide editors suggest the beautiful, verdant Shenzhen Garden and Flower Exposition Center. At 660,000 sq. meters, the garden is enormous and is a lovely place to while away the afternoon. You’ll find plenty of traditional Chinese landscaping here, as well as Western gardens. Stretch your legs on the climb up to the pagoda and, on a clear day, you’ll be rewarded with views of Hong Kong. Have an authentic lunch of dim sum at Dan Gui Xuan. Do some electronics shopping at Huaqiangbei Commercial Street. Then freshen up and your hotel and head to a luxurious dinner at a 360 at the Shenzhen China Shangri-La where you can enjoy stunning views of the city along with exquisite cuisine.
