Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore has one of the lengthiest room service menus we’ve seen yet. There a slew of options, many of which are available around the clock. From your room you can order off the traditional in-room dining menu as well as from the menus of the hotel’s restaurants.
For breakfast, order from set menus including the continental breakfast, American breakfast, and traditional Japanese, Singaporean and Malaysian breakfasts. A la carte options are available, including eggs Benedict, omelets, oatmeal, homemade granola, pancakes, French toast and waffles. Those looking to add some protein can order an Australian breakfast steak, salmon, a cold cut platter, pork ham and various Asian specialties.
For lunch and dinner, the menu ranges from traditional Singaporean dishes like chicken rice — chicken boiled in chicken stock served with rice, chili sauce, dark soy and ginger paste — and laksa, dried shrimp and coconut gravy. There are also light salads, soups, pastas, Singapore favorites such as chicken satay, dum methi murgh, pad thai goon and Malaysian chicken curry, wanton soup and more. Burgers, sirloin steak sandwiches, chicken panini and pizzas are options, too. Main entrées include steak, cod fillet, salmon, honey-glazed Kampong chicken breast, grilled Barramundi, and a selection of Indian vegetarian dishes such as aloo gobhi and dal tadka. (Those eschewing bread can order off the gluten-free menu.) Desserts and sweet treats are available, as is a varied children’s menu.
