Wine Critic, Author
Carving a niche for herself in the wide world of wine, Jancis Robinson became the first person outside of the wine trade (i.e., not a wine merchant, retailer or importer) to become a master of wine in the United Kingdom. Using her profound knowledge for the vine, Robinson created her popular website, JancisRobinson.com, that shares everything from travel tips to tasting notes — wine-centric, of course. In 2003, Robinson was awarded an OBE (Order of the British Empire) by Her Majesty the Queen, whose cellar she now advises. In addition to her website, she also writes a weekly column for the Financial Times and has had a hand in three widely referenced books: The Oxford Companion to Wine, The World Atlas of Wine and Wine Grapes, the last of which was published in 2012. And her latest book, American Wine, written with Linda Murphy, was published in early 2013.
