John T.A. Vanderslice



John T.A. Vanderslice grew up in Schenectady, N.Y., and moved around the country as a child, attending 13 different schools before studying at Boston College. A nomad himself, Vanderslice excels at creating welcoming experiences for travelers. After growing hospitality brands such as Miraval Spa and Club Med Americas, he became the global head of luxury and lifestyle brands for Hilton Worldwide in 2009 and masterminded a new mission statement for the venerable company: target the evolving luxury market. Vanderslice has overseen exponential growth in Hilton’s prestige brands — Conrad Hotels & Resorts and Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts — by expanding into new international markets (Panama, Macau, Scotland) and nearly doubling the number of properties in each group.
