The nice thing about the Berkshires is that you can find just about any hotel, resort, inn or bed-and-breakfast to suit your personality. We recommend the following places to stay in the Berkshires:
Blantyre, a Scottish castle-turned-resort, is part of the Relais & Chateaux properties, and one of the more picturesque places to stay in the Berkshires. During the winter months, the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel turns into a winter wonderland, complete with an outdoor ice rink and horse-drawn carriage rides through the snow paths.
Located just adjacent to the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, Porches Inn at MASS MoCA brings a bit of trendy to the traditional Berkshires. This inn features retro décor, an indoor/outdoor pool and bonfire pit for those cold nights that require s'mores.
The Red Lion Inn is one of the oldest in the Berkshires, featuring a very antique ambience. The inn is located in the heart of Stockbridge, walking distance from nearby boutiques and restaurants.
Canyon Ranch is a trendy spa resort in the Berkshires and is where one goes when one needs a little 'get healthy' reminder. It's an all-inclusive health and wellness resort featuring nutritional programs, yoga classes and exercise programs. Plus, it is a completely dry environment (read: there's no alcohol permitted here).
If you want all the ambience of a spa, without all the pressure of a 'get well' campaign, Cranwell Resort and Golf Club is known for its luxury accommodations atop a mountain in Lenox. The 100-year-old country hotel has a full service spa, indoor pool, golf course, tennis courts and three restaurants.
