The Dining Room at Langdon Hall is located on a 200-acre country estate in rural Ontario (about 90 minutes northeast of downtown Toronto). The Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star restaurant is helmed by executive chef Jason Bangerter, a devotee of the fresh-is-best, farm-to-table philosophy. In fact, many of the ingredients used in Bangerter's sophisticated cuisine are grown in the estate’s kitchen garden. While the dinner menu here is the real star, the restaurant is also open for breakfast, brunch and lunch. The seasonal evening menu changes weekly and features dishes such as a robust herb-basted rainbow trout or dry-aged Aberdine beef tenderloin. For an unforgettable dining experience, Bangerter also prepares a tasting menu with wine pairings, which lets you sample items like poached Arctic char with local morels and a crispy St. Jacobs pig cheek, followed by a strawberry compote with lime sorbet.
