The Lodge at Vail has two restaurants, Cucina Rustica and Elway's. An à la carte breakfast is served in Cucina Rustica daily from 7 to 10 a.m. The eatery is also popular with the apres-ski crowd that comes in for appetizers, cocktails and a relaxed venue for trading stories about their adventures on the slopes.
Elway's, one of four in Colorado owned by Super Bowl-winning former Denver Broncos quarterback John Elway, attracts diners for its prime beef served in the way of hand-cut steaks and burgers. The sleekly designed restaurant, with its stone, steel and wood décor, is partly wrapped in a glass enclosure. The semi-circular bar is hidden behind a stylish wooden half-wall. Reservations are a must here, because it's one of the more popular restaurants in Vail.
