Aquaphiles are in for a treat, since luxurious and fragrant wet areas abound at The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Amelia Island. Located just down the hall from the locker rooms, you’ll find an indoor, green-and-white tiled wet area. It features a eucalyptus steam room, a handsome and spacious wooden sauna complete with sea salts in the heater, and a heated Jacuzzi pool with two waterfalls that pour water into the pool from overhead. This is also where you’ll find white tiled showers stocked with Ritz-Carlton branded shampoo, conditioner, body wash and shaving cream, plus shower caps and razors near an urn of citrus-infused iced water on the wooden table next to the heated pool. Padded white wicker armchairs and stools surround the pool, but if you want to recline, your best bet is to head to the outdoor spa pool.
While smaller than the hotel’s outdoor swimming pool, it provides a more tranquil ambiance for sunbathing and dining. If you’re visiting Amelia Island during hurricane season (June to November) and the weather isn’t in your favor, don’t worry: The Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star spa also features an indoor swimming pool flanked by lounge chairs. Hydrate with a cup of iced tea located in the nearby coed relaxation lounge, then dive into the heated waters.
