The Little Nell reopened in November 2009 after all its rooms and junior suites underwent a major renovation. The effort was spearheaded by Chicago-based interior designer Holly Hunt, who gave The Little Nell an updated look without taking too grand of a departure from the style and tradition that has given the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel a loyal following since it opened in 1989. The solution was to create a style wholly unique to The Little Nell — one that reflected Aspen’s diverse culture and ideals via a modern aesthetic, but also found inspiration in the beauty of the mountain surroundings. In the process the rooms received upgraded technology, new fireplaces and totally renovated all-marble bathrooms with state-of-the-art sunken tubs, separate showers, and his and her vanities.
