Golf has a rich history in the state of Georgia and you better believe there are several great public courses to choose from near The St. Regis Atlanta. Less than three miles from the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel is the par-71, 18-hole Bobby Jones Golf Course. This historic course opened in 1932 and has seen its fair share of play over the years, but it’s still a good option for those who want to get in a quick game nearby.
For a more upscale experience, head 12 miles northeast to Heritage Golf Links. Heritage has 27 holes among rolling greens, old trees, streams and a large center lake. And if you really want a day of true luxury golf head to Bear’s Best, about a 45-minute drive from the Atlanta hotel (without traffic). The course was designed by the Bear himself, Jack Nicklaus — it incorporates holes featured in his most celebrated courses, from Cornwall, England to Castle Rock, Colorado.
